@Jhja Thanks for providing the correct answer!

@vinaykumarc.21 Thank you for purchasing our product! As a matter of fact, Windows Defender will be disabled automatically when installing Trend Micro Security software. This default change is to avoid conflict since Windows Defender is a Microsoft's built-in anti-virus protection and having more than one anti-virus program usually causes a conflict. So, as @Jhja mentioned, it's not advised to run two antivirus programs on the same machine.

Please let us know if your question is answered. Thank you!

Hi @ldillon

Thank you for trying out our new Trend Micro Community.

To answer your query, Windows Firewall is recommended to be enabled while Trend Micro is running. You may actually enable the Firewall Booster feature of your Trend Micro program.

You may refer on this article for the steps:

Enabling the Firewall Booster feature of Trend Micro Security

With regards to Windows Defender, Trend Micro automatically disable this Windows program as this conflicts with the functions of the software. Windows Firewall, on the other hand, is recommended to be enabled.

We hope this answers your concern. Please do not hesitate to post your concerns regarding Trend Micro.

Thank you and you have a great day!
