Security? Or not?

Every time I go to pay a bill on my banking website, it says it is not protected and I need to turn off the security.  That is ridiculous- as that is when I need it the most. I had the Trend internet security package.

Thank you for posting here.

The message that you received is to notify you that a protected data has been blocked by the Data Theft Prevention feature of your Trend Micro Security software. There was an improvement in our Data Theft Prevention on our latest version wherein it can now protect these data even in HTTPS websites for better security.

To stop getting this message, do the following:

1. On the pop-up message, click Temporarily disable this protection.
2. On your keyboard, press the F5 key. This will refresh the website and disable the Data Theft Protection feature for 30 minutes.

To avoid frequent notifications from this feature, type the last 8 digits of your credit card number on the Data Theft Prevention feature. This is best practice for greater filtering.

You can also do this for the other information that you want to protect:
  • Name - Type your complete name
  • Email Address -Type your complete email address
  • Telephone number - Type your complete telephone number

Just a thought from a long-term user here, but have you added your bank's URL to your "Exceptions List" under your "settings"?

Thanks!  I added the checking info and it actually let me pay a bill without having to turn off the security.

Happy to know that!  Trend Micro is the best security I've ever used, but there is a bit of a learning curve to a few things that takes some time.  It's really helpful here in the T.M. Community with the techs and other users who can help with "shortcuts" in that curve.
