I have a Dell laptop with windows 10. HOW SHOULD I HAVE THE POWER SETTINGS OR ANY OTHER SETTINGS ON IT IN ORDER TO BE ABLE TO SCHEDULE A SCAN? I would like to continue using Trend but I want it to scan at night when I am not using it. I also use
firefox.

Thank you for asking here! For your inquiry, we have an online support page to help you set up the Scheduled Scans:
Configuring the Scheduled Scans of Trend Micro Security software

Just a kind reminder that Scheduled scans do not run when your computer is off, have full-screen mode running, on Hibernate mode, on Sleep mode, or if you logged out of Windows OS. If you don't feel secure to keep your computer on, we suggest you lock your computer screen (Press Ctrl key, Alt key, and Delete key at the same time, and then select Lock from the options).

Please let us know if the Scheduled Scans feature works for you. Thanks!

I just recently installed TrendMicro (from the Geek Squad switch from Kaspersky). I have a full scan scheduled for 1am each day. However, when I unlock my computer, the full scan starts... i.e., it does NOT appear to be running on the schedule I have selected. Like other users, I prefer this to run overnight while the computer is not being used. Yesterday, I did not lock my computer, and the full scan STILL did not run until I connected to my computer (remotely). I have verified several times that my schedule is set correctly (full scan at 1am each day).

Honestly, TrendMicro... I know this is a good product, but little things like this are very frustrating for people like me who are concerned about security. With Kaspersky, I was able to schedule quick scans on a daily basis and full scans every Sunday morning around 2am. I NEVER had a problem with those scans running, as long as my computer was powered up (it could be asleep or locked).

No special screen saver is running, and I do not have hibernation turned on on my computer. I am connecting to this computer remotely using TeamViewer, which locks the computer when I disconnect the remote session.

Hello russ.collier,

It might be because the computer is locked, can you check it for us if it will work if the PC is not locked?

We will wait for your update.

After resetting the computer to lock when i disconnect from the remote session and a fresh look at what MicroTrend was doing this morning, I have come to see that it is only a Quick Scan that is running when I unlock the computer. This is fine, as it does not take too terribly long to run. However, I cannot seem to find any "reporting" of the full scan that is scheduled in the early morning hours.

Hi russ.collier

That is because your computer is on lock and not running in your name, to do that you need to configure the "Scheduled Task's"
I don't know the command line for that so i hope a TM Emplyee come in to tell us!

Kind regards,
Tom

Hi russ.collier

If i start my computer, my TM Maximum Security does automatically a Quick Scan and reports when he is finished. So you can set full scans every Sunday morning around 2am
Hope this helps!

Kind regards,
Tom

-I'm not a Trend Micro representative, but I like to give you some suggestion-

Sorry for the stupid consideration Tobias and Russ, but obviously check that your PC Date&Time are correct!
Also, as suggested, it is important to be sure your PC is not in sleep mode trying to add a scheduled scan between few minutes. and checking if start successfully.

There are no reasons scheduled scans does not start. :)

P.S.: I think a user session has to be opened. When you disconnect from your PC remotly, the session ends and the PC goes to the user/password request. Maybe it is the 'issue'.
So you can try to use a remote desktop software instead of Remote Desktop.

OK My Dell Windows 10 does not get locked or hibernate or sleep or screensaver. And the date and time are correct. Schedueld Scan still starts up when it feels like it but not when I want it to. TrendMicro now what?

There must be one more thing that has been happening - the CPU usage by those times must have been very high. Can you check the status of your CPU usage or chec any background applications that might have been using these resources on your computer?
