I received an email from my isp (cox) that my windows 7 pc is likely infected by zbot. How can I find/fix with trend?

Hello,
I think that a complete scan with a Trend Micro application (up to date 12.0.1226) will find if your PC is infected or not.

How an external Company may know that your PC is infected? 

So, if your TM application said all is OK, I think you have not to be concerned. :)

but :

scan system with housecall

uninstall trend micro

download and install latest version Trend Micro

They are right about the possible fake email that you have received.

May I know if you also have contacted your ISP regarding that email for it to be verified?

Thank you all.   A scan lasting 7+ hours  found no problems.  I suspect the email from the ISP was triggered automatically as a result of  a phishing email I received last week.    Leo

I see, that might have been a phishing attempt or a Technical Support Scam. The known scheme of these attackers is that they will be sending you a message that something is wrong with your computer while your computer is perfectly fine. They will be providing a specific number to call or a website to follow in order to take control of your computer. They might ask your eventually for payment for services that does not really exist.
