why do i have to agree to auto renewal to renew my subscription.
i will NOT agree to this so unless you have a way around that, you will have one less customer

Hello Casey,

as discussed, 'auto renew' is commonly enabled when purchasing an AV/IS solution.

This is good to ensure you will not exposed to threats.

Anyway, 
you can disable it from your account.

For sure, if you need help to do so, Trend Micro reperesentatives will assist you.
