I had redirecting virus problem. When I was clicking on anything on the page, random pages were displaying. Finally I found the virus name from google which is redirecting virus. The Trend Micro Maximum security was not able to find it. Someone suggested me to use Malwarebytes andti Malware. I did so and now the virus is removed. I want to share this experience for the community to report it so that it could be fixed by Trend Micro.

Here's a reply from one of the trend Micro techs on a similar, if not the same, problem from a few months ago:

Hi , I understand your concerns.

For your issue, may I know which website are you experiencing Google Redirect virus? Could you provide the URL for us?

Here's for your information, each day, Trend Micro processes a very large number of websites and block ones that are malicious or trying to lure users to perform risky actions. We have a website that allows everyone to check the safety of a particular website:
Trend Micro Site Safety

In the same time, I also passed your information to our support center, to create a Support Ticket, and a member of our support agent will contact you to solve your issue more efficiently.

Hello Honest and welcome to the community!

We actually do have articles and Knowledge base pages that can help you with this type of issues.

You can try to follow the steps on the link below on how we can fix this redirection issue. Please follow it accordingly:
  1. Resolving website redirection issue
  2. Resetting your web browser for performance and website redirection issues
  3. Removing adware from web browsers
Basically, website redirection is not a Virus. You can learn more about it from the links I sent above.

I hope this helps.

Hello joel and welcome to the community.

Since you are receiving that message on a Mobile device, did you already clear cache on your mobile device? You can do the following on your mobile device.

  1. Open Settings of your device.
  2. Go to App Manager.
  3. Scroll down and look for Google Chrome or Internet application.
  4. Tap Clear Cache.
  5. If you have the Trend Micro Mobile Security for Android please go to Network Protection and enable Safe Surfing and/or Wifi Checker. Then set the Protection Level to either High, Normal or Low.
Then check if the issue still persist, we will wait for your response.

Thank you and have a great week!
