Questions about Folder Shield

In Titanium Max version 11.1...Does the Folder Shield protect sub-folders? ...What about one other user? (I have a 5-user license) - I can only select my own documents folder in my Windows 7 OS so what about the documents folder for the other user? Do I select 'Users' folder instead so both users are shielded? One more thing, how do I know the shield is working because the trusted programs list is empty, yet I can still freely modify files in My Documents?

Hi Dchome,

Welcome to TM Home users Community, a public site where volunteers try to help each-other , also there are TM Employees that can give answers, that is only at working hours.
Yes select "Users"and al the users are protected, then if you do something , you have the right to do, so no reaction of TM, but if a program try to do there it is blocked by TM and ask you to trust it or not.
Hopes this answer your question.
Have a nice day.

Kind regards,

Hi dchome9bvd,

Welcome to this community!

Yes, Folder Shield protects sub-folders however, in this version you can select only one folder in each machine with Trend Micro Security installed.

To avoid false alarm and prevent performance impact, it will prevent UNKNOWN PROCESS trying to access any file protected by Folder Shield, known good process will not be blocked.

Hope that answers your questions.

Hello dchome9bvd ! Welcome to the community!

For the Folder Shield feature, for as long as a specific folder is protected by this feature, all of its contents including sub folders will be protected. Also, the default folder in which it is protecting is the Documents Folder. However, you can always change the Shielded folder by following the steps on this link:
Using the Folder Shield feature of Trend Micro Security

As of the moment, our developing team is currently improving this feature so it can cover multiple folders. And also, like @Tom Emmelot (Tom Emmelot)  said, you have the option to configure the protection on the Users folder to have the maximum coverage as it will be protecting the files saved under the users on that computer.

You can know if the folder shield is working if the folder that you have selected to protect has a badge on it. It should look like this.

Hope this help you.
