Official Response
Sorry for the inconvenience. For this protection disabled issue, we suggest you reinstall Maximum Security to reset the program and patterns. Hopefully, a reinstall will reset everything back to normal.

Here's a reference doc for the steps:
Reinstalling the latest version of Trend Micro Security program

In addition, some conflicting software might cause Maximum Security to malfunction. Could you please check if there's any conflicting software in your computer?

Here's a list of software that'd cause conflict with Trend Micro Security:
Programs to remove before installing Trend Micro Security

It's a long list, but a simple way to identify conflict software is making sure no software from major security product companies is installed on your machine first:
- McAfee (AntiSpyware, Online Backup, SiteAdvisor, etc.)
- Kaspersky (Security Scan, etc.)
- Symantec / Norton (Antispam, Online Backup, Online Backup, etc.)

Please let us know if above solutions solve your problem. If not, please send us some screenshots of the error messages you're seeing, and we will do our best to help.

Thank you.
