Hi ahsans and welcome to Trend Micro Community!

Yes, both the free and pro version of Super AntiSpyware needs to be removed to prevent confliction upon installing the program

Hope this helps.

I do not intend to use Free/Pro version of SuperAntiSpyware and I haven't been using it for a very long time. Just want to get clarification from Trend Micro Community.

In the SuperAntiSpyware under FAQs they mentioned this:

Is SUPERAntiSpyware an antivirus program?

Strictly speaking, SUPERAntiSpyware is not designed to be antivirus software. We target spyware, adware, worms, trojan horses, rootkits, and crimeware, a focus that allows us to respond quickly to the ever-growing groups of hostile software we address, with new definitions released multiple times a day, and concentrate on the technology that targets the most common threats in the wild. There are a lot of things that are often called viruses (many trojans, worms, and so on) that SUPERAntiSpyware will remove, but it won't remove many true viruses or boot-sector viruses.

SUPERAntiSpyware has been designed to be compatible with popular antivirus and antispyware applications such as McAfee, Symantec Norton, Kaspersky, Bitdefender, ESET NOD32, Spybot Search & Destroy, Hitman Pro, Ad-Aware, AVG, Avast, Panda, Webroot, Malwarebytes, Avira, and more.

I think these type of security program needs to communicate well enough with Antivirus programs like Trend Micro, Norton, and etc regarding about this.

Hi ahsans,

SUPERAntiSpyware software program is detected as incompatible software on our part to prevent confliction with the process since some of its features are available on the Trend Micro program.
