It is possible that the Adobe Acrobat Reader you are currently using is not updated which is why you are not able to use this program. You may want to check if your Acrobat program is fully updated.
May I also ask for the error message Trend Micro Security is notifying you whenever you use your Adobe Acrobat Reader? This will help us to further check the issue. If you could provide a screenshot of the detection from Trend Micro, that would be better.
