Painfully Slow TMIS Startup

I have upgraded to TM Internet Security 11.1.1045 (running Win 10 Pro after Creator's Update) and I still see that it takes at least 20 minutes for TMIS to complete starting.

Also, after leaving only MS Outlook and possibly Google Chrome running, I get major performance issues, including an extremely large memory usage footprint, as if there is a recursive memory leak.

Any help would be appreciated...

Hi jfisher,

It's unfortunate to hear that you are experiencing this type of issue.

Can we ask for the details of your system to check if your Trend Micro program is compatible?

You may open the System Information window by typing the command "MSinfo32" and hit OK and provide us a screenshot to check it, or you may compare the system requirements found on this link below.

System Requirements for Trend Micro Security 2017

Also, if in case you have an old version of Trend Micro program installed on your device before performing the update please try to perform a clean installation instead by following the procedures below. It is possible that the old components of your previous Trend Micro program is causing the problem.

Uninstalling Trend Micro Security and older programs for Windows using the Diagnostic Toolkit

After the removal, please install the software using a new Trend Micro program that can be downloaded on this link below.

Please inform us if this helps. Thank you!

Hi jfisher,

Thank you for your reply and for sending the screenshot of your system details.

By the way, have you already performed the clean installation by uninstalling your old Trend Micro program using the Trend Micro Diagnostic Toolkit and then reinstalling the program after removal?

Please inform us if it helped. Thank you!

Hi jfisher!

Thank you for the update.

To further assist you with this concern, may I know how many programs you have in your Startup Menu? Does all programs need to be included in Startup? Try eliminating some programs that you do not use everyday.

The Trend Micro program has a feature where it can be loaded first upon starting up your computer. You may follow the step by step guide in the link below.

Using the System Startup feature of Trend Micro Security

Let us know any update, Thank you!
