No Access Rights...

Hi,
I tried tried the Maximum security suite for 2 weeks now and had no problems. Today I bought a serial number and activated it and since then I cannot draw photos from the explorer into Indesign.
I gathered that has to do with the Folder Security Feature, but when I disabled it, it didn't work either (Adobe Indesign tells me, I had not enough rights to do what I wanted to.

Now theres two problems:
1.) I cannot work this way.
2.) I tried out the suite to make sure it doesn't bother me too much - why does it things it didn't in trial mode? Are there other tools that were only activated after I registered?

And then there is the problem with adding to the program whitelist: You could AT LEAST provide a list of the installed programs... And there should also be a message when you block something where I could add that program directly...

We understand that you are having troubles with a third party program that won't open along with the Trend Micro Security application that you have. Allow me to help you with this.

To isolate and to further confirm if the problem is really caused by the Trend Micro program, we can try to have it temporarily disabled and then you can try to run the program that you are using. To do that, you can locate the the Trend Micro icon on the lower right part of your screen (aligned with the time and date) and then right click the Trend Micro icon then select Exit. In some scenario, you may need to click on the arrow pointing upwards first before you can see the Trend Micro icon.

Once done, you may try to use the program that you wish to run. If the problem still persists, I would advise that you contact the program's developers for more help as there might be something wrong with the program itself and it is no longer related with the security program.

The Trial Version is designed to function like the full version. The only difference is the amount of time that you will be protected that is why I highly doubt that this is caused by our security program. Further more, just let us know if the steps that I have provided works so we can help you further if there will be something else that needs doing.

Thank you kiko for the fast reply. Actually I disabled the Security suite to just try it and it didn't work either - as I wrote. My reasoning was, that Trend Micro had to change something in the Filesystem of Windows to accomlish the protection. And until I registered I worked extensively in Indesign. The first action (and many after that) that involved the file system hung. Even after a restart....

After your reply that nothing changed in the program, I did some further testing and even imported a foto from another project - which worked: it turned out, Indesign has a problem with paths, that contain german umlauts (äöü) - never had that problem before, didn't realise I only imported files from folders with umlauts in it (I didn't name it ;-)

So: Everything seems to work now - I will allow the suite to protect all folders and I hope that was it...
