I have the Latest Trend Micro Maximum Security and Windows 7. TM is set to scan automatically. On the advice of a professional, I scanned the computer using Malwarebyte, which detected:

Trojan.Injector.BHO

Why did TM not detect this malware?

Hi Tennyson, Welcome to the Community!

Regarding your question as to why Trend Micro did not detected this malware “Trojan.Injector.BHO”, is because every antivirus program has its own different ways, pattern or even categorization to detect if it is a malicious file or not.

May I know what is the specific file when Malwarebytes detected it? This is for us to help check further if it is really malicious or not. We’ll appreciate it if you can send a sample screenshot as well?

There is also a way to configure your Trend Micro program, if you think that the program itself is the one that needs to be checked. You can check these steps from our Knowledge Base Website: Threats are not detected or cleaned by Trend Micro Security.

If you have any further questions, do not hesitate to reply back on this thread.

Thank you and have a great day!
