I have shared folders on my PC. It is VERY VERY slow to open documents from these folders on other PC's. When I turn Trend Micro Maximum Security v11.0 off on my PC (the host) it all speeds up. How can I fix this?

I had the same problem.  Trend sent me this Hotfix which resolved the problem.  Good luck!

I only installed it on the machine sharing folders.  Was not necessary on the machines accessing the files.

Hello trickrtreat,

This issue has been resolved already.

An hotfix was created before to fix the issue, but it was part of the latest version of the program now. So if you are using the latest build, you must not encounter this issue anymore.

For now, just make sure that you have the latest version of the Trend Micro program installed on your computer.

If the issue still persists, just send a reply to this thread.

I hope this helps.

I have the latest version of Trend Micro. I have a folder hosted on my main computer that a program I use on all my other computers accesses. I run Trend Micro on all my computers, but I have to disable Trend Micro on my main computer so that it doesn't bog down all my other computers. I know Trend Micro is causing this issue because the issue goes away once Trend Micro has been disabled... I've been using TM for many years and this has only been an issue the last 6 months or so.

Hello trickrtreat! Thanks for your reposnse.

May I know if you have already tried following the steps on this article yet?

[Hotfix] Application hangs when trying to access files from a server

This solution was uploaded last  updated Dec. 27, 2017 12:58 AM so I am pretty sure that this is compatible with the latest version of the Trend Micro program (2018).

The steps in the article are straight forward.

Let me know if this helps.
