Mozilla Firefox crashes unless Maximum Security is disabled

A couple of weeks ago I started having problems with Mozilla Firefox.
When I start the software, It would take forever to start and come up with errors when loading its home page.
I tried uninstalling and reinstalling to no avail.
After trying multiple suggested solutions, I disabled my Trend Micro Maximum Security and Firefox recovered straight away.
The question is, how can I run these two programs at the same time?
I am running Windows 10 on a Microsoft Surface Pro 3 with Maximum Security version 10.0

Hi Tom,
I noticed yesterday that there was a newer version, but my version tells me that there are no updates available.
I downloaded version 11, but stopped when it said it was going to uninstall the existing copy.
I have two years left on my Maximum Security paid service, any idea how changing to the new version will affect it?

Cheers, Dale

Hi Dale,

Should be no problem, key must work.
You can always download the version in your Account!

Kind regards,
Tom

Official Response
Hi Tom, thanks for helping!

Hi Dale Macdonald, as Tom mentioned, you may try upgrading to the Trend Micro Security 2017 (11.0) and see if the problem solved with the latest version. Since the product you're using is Trend Micro Maximum Security, please find the suitable installer here: Upgrading Trend Micro Maximum Security to the latest version

Note: It's free to upgrade the program with an unexpired license, and it will not affect the remaining days of your current license.

Please let us know if Firefox works normally with Maximum Security 2017.

I installed the TM 2017 on Dec. 1 and updated my Firefox browser Dec. 2. Now the Firefox browser doesn't work. Any suggestions? Do I need to activate a special TM extension for Firefox? I am running these on Windows Vista. Could that be the problem? Thanks.

Hi , ldfitzhugh,

Do you use the 32 or 64 bit Version of Firefox?
The 64 bit Version wont work!

Kind regards,
Tom

Hi Tom and Claudia,

I ran the upgrade late last night and it seems to have fixed the problem.
Firefox now loads as quickly as I'm used to with Maximum Security running in the background.
Thank you very much for your assistance.

Cheers, Dale
