I have been getting these popups asking if I want to install moatad.js.  I know not to do that so I exit out of the popup.  These popups show up even though my popup blocker is on. Since these things began appearing, my desktop has significantly slowed.  What can I do about this?  I have a Dell Windows 7 desktop and I use IE7 as my OS. My Trend Micro Maximum Security version is 12.0.1226 full version.

Hi jordanac. I don't think this is anything that you want to download. If it does download itself then get rid of it. A quick search showed the following:

Remove Moatads virus (js.moatads.com) in Chrome, Firefox and IE

I'm just a fellow Trend Micro user here and not a tech, but we all help each other out at this site.

Thanks for the response. As I said, I have no intention of installing this, but the popups are annoying and I still believe they are slowing down my system.

Hello woodartisan55 ! Thanks for the solution.

Hello jordanac ! Welcome to the community!

The program that keeps on asking to be installed on your computer have been a bundled application along with a Freeware that you have downloaded and installed.

Kindly check your programs and features portion and see if you have installed any programs on that computer before this problem occurred. If there is, please try to have it removed as well and check if it makes any difference.

All the best.
