Missing Excel File

A Microsoft Excel file that I was editing yesterday has disappeared from the Micro Vault folder and I can now only find a more dated edit (14 October) on an Extension Drive. When I try to copy this file to the Micro Vault, a message asks whether it is to replace an existing file by the same name (which shows last edit date 30 November??), indicating there is still an up-to date file in the Vault.
Any thoughts please?

I'm not certain of the result you wish to attain. If the system is asking you if you want to replace the existing file with the latest version, I would say "yes". Other then that, I cannot understand what your problem is.

I was hoping to find the file that I had edited up to 30 November, to save having to re-do all the data back to 17 October. ie why is Trend Micro Vault  indicating the file is there to replace when apparently it is not?

I'm sorry. That is a question I cannot perhaps answer. Have you gone through your "C" drive and any other areas in your device which it may be stored? Trend Micro is probably not the source of your problem, but it may be possible. If you have saved this, and you have a PC, you should be able to find somewhere it is stored by going into all of your storage sources. This may take some time to search, but it should be fruitful. The search of your drives and storage should give you the result you desire. Again, it may take some searching and time to find it, but you should be able to find it.

Hi Curnowar,

Try this, Open Explorer(hidden/system files must be on) go to C:\users\Yourname\AppData\Trend Micro\Vault\DataFile\ and see of the file there exist and maybe you can copy it and work with it.
But normal the only things you can do in the Vault is:
Copy in it
Copy from it
Delete from it
Work and save from/in it
Cant save from outside, because the Vault is not showing in the save window.
Right click in the folder gives you these things and nothing else.
Goog luck!

Kind regards,
Tom

Thanks Tom
I did find the file with your help. However it appears to have become corrupted and is unreadable.
Kind Regards

Hi Curnowar,

Maybe a TM Technician can rescue the file!

Kind regards,

Unfortunately not. I suspect a combination of new Laptop with Windows 10 and an old version of Excel might have been the culprit. However luckily I did have a backup copy on an external drive.
Thanks for your interest Tom.
