Maximum Security stuck in endless loop - does not scan !

For the past 2+ months, my Trend Maximum Security 2016 just loop in 'preparing to scan' . I have not been able to scan at all. Longest I have waited is more than 20 hours and it still is 'preparing to scan'. Now my subscription is up for renewal and I don't know if I should bother to renew if it won't scan. Even on the browser bar the trend logo shows up in grey. Please help !!
