They never come to you like that!
Do you have a screenshot or some other info about this matter?

We would like to know the following so we can narrow down the situation:

1. Were you in contact with one of Trend Micro's representatives recently? Did they somehow schedule a callback with you so they can troubleshoot on your computer?
2. Did a representative contact you about this? Were you also provided a case number?

Please let us know.

In the meantime, you may refer to the steps below to perform a manual update on the Trend Micro program:

1. Open the Trend Micro program.
2. Click on "You have access to the latest protection" (just below the "Protected" label).
3. Wait for the program to update (status should say "Checking for updates, installing an update or downloading an update).
4. Once done, you're all set.
