Is this a problem?

Unwanted 'protection'?  I've noticed that my computer has been slow to react in the last 24 hours. I've performed a couple of scans and Housecall scan with no noticeable malware picked up.

I looked at "websites" listed and saw   http*://*.antivirus.com/*

HP pc running Win 8.1

I don't remember seeing this before and I'm wondering if I should delete it. Anyone have ideas about this?

Is a TM site, so no problem there!
Look in the task-manager if there is a program that is consuming CPU and memory !Here from you.

Can we check the CPU usage of your computer just to determine if a certain process is making your PC slow to react?

Is it correct that you see the website: https://www.antivirus.com/ on the allowed websites? Tom is right that it's a Trend Micro site so there's no need to worry about that.

Yes you can TM_Malik, and yes it is on the allowed websites.  I check them frequently to see that nothing has been added nefariously. Whenever and however you want to check is fine with me.

Also, I just thought of something odd that happened yesterday. I don't have cable TV so I read most of my news on the 'net. I was at one POLITICO(L) site when my screen suddenly had a gray haze over it. I immediately closed the site and performed a scan which showed no problems. Maybe this is the key, but I've found no unwanted programs or apps after checking Appwiz.cpl.

Though I am using nothing (my email is open, but I'm not on the page) usage seems to jump from 35% to 70% and "disk" goes to 100% and back down:

Can you click on the tab "disk % " so that the program that is doing it comes at the top.  
Than take a shot!

-I'm not a Trend Micro representative, but I like to give you some suggestion-

There are many reasons on why this kind of resources may change. 
Maybe Windows updates are running.
Apps from Windows Store are updating.
Services are starting after Windows boot up, (up to several minutes).

So my suggestion is, wait at least 10/15 minutes after Windows start. 
Check there are not updates running from Store and Windows Update.
Close Explorer!!!
Check at resource again.

Disk at 100% is not an issue by itself. Is a problem if it is everytime at 100%. 

You have a lot of services running! :)

I'd also like to know what to delete out of all of those apps.  I'm not a gamer, and pretty much use this computer for reading and research. I DO watch news in the late afternoon/evening and AcornTV at night often. So any items not related to those things, and I have no idea of what they may be, I'd appreciate being informed of. Thanks...Tim

I think this needs a new install! I Quote Pat of TM.


STEP 1: Uninstall the Trend Micro program using the Diagnostic Toolkit
  • Press the Windows Button and letter "R" both on your keyboard at the same time to open the Run Console
  • Once the Run Console is open, type: supporttool
  • Click OK
  • Doing that will open the Trend Micro Diagnostic Toolkit. Once open, go to (C) Uninstall and then click on "1. Uninstall Software"
  • Wait for the uninstall process to finish then restart the computer when prompted
  • Note: If your computer cannot find "supporttool", click here to download a tool that will help you uninstall Trend Micro Security.
STEP 2: Run the Remnant File remover tool
  • Click here to download the tool.
STEP 3: Install Trend Micro Security
  • Click here to download the installer.

  • And i hope that solve the problem, but TM is working on this issue!

I'm not so certain. I've had no problem with T.M. acting funny in any way. It's the computer or some program/app I may have inadvertently gotten into it. As I wrote above, this seemed to happen after that light gray haze over a  site I've visited daily for a couple of years or more. It's what got in I can't figure out. 

Thinking about it again, I believe I was about to, and did, click on an article just as all the news articles moved downward and ads appeared in the upper portion. I'm pretty sure I remember seeing "download now" on the screen in the last split second before I closed the site out. So I'm pretty sure it's something I let in by very much an accident.

Hi woodartisan55 If you compare your list with mine you can see that your disk use must be 0% and your use of memory is also match  higher, the quote from Pat is token from a similar situation where you are in!
So my advice is still the same.You  can look in the programs list if there is a new program, you can clean all the temp files, i use CCeaner for that.
