Interupted pages with warning to not turn off computer because data is at risk

I keep getting my pages interupted by a warning page telling me to not turn off my computer or interupt the page in any way as my data is at risk and I should call Microsoft engineers at 866-288-2032 to fix the problem. I then turn off my computer and restart and do a trend micro scan which comes up with no risks found. Can anyone tell me what this is all about?

I was on google browser and looking at a yahoo news webpage.  The warning cut into my page as a popup and a voice was heard telling me to not turn off my computer and to call the number on the screen.  The Trend Micro toolbar is enabled, I did not call the number as I figured it was not really Microsoft engineers.  After restarting my computer I did not get the message again this time but it has happened a few times in the past and after a while it happens again, maybe a week or so.

Thank you for your time to answer the questions above.

We are sorry for any inconvenience this has caused you. Those pages that appeared on your screen are just a scam. This is to lure users to avail their services and pay for a certain amount. But we assured you that your device is not infected as long as you didn't contact the phone number and they didn't access your computer.

We appreciate your effort in reporting this. If you have any questions, feel free to post in the community.

Have a great day! :)
