Internet Security seems to be hung in "scanning" AGAIN! What's going on? Why hasn't this been fixed?

Welcome to TM Home users Community, a public site where volunteers try to help each-other , also there are TM Employees that can give answers, that is only at working hours. I am just a volunteer!

There are more than a milliard computers on the world with MS on it, they are all different from hardware and software with there own drivers and manufactory.
And you suspect that they can fix something that happen on maybe 10 computers worldwide?
So if you want help, we need to know :
OS system/version, TM system/version and the type of scan you try and the % of the scan to the point he is hanging!

Thanks for your reply.  It's just real frustrating. I've been with TM for years without a problem. Now, with a new subscription it hangs up.  The first time, TM walked me thru a reinstall. It worked for a while, now it's happened again. 

Windows 7 Home Premium, SP1; last update Oct 10.
TM Internet Security, Ver 15.0.1172

The TM icon in the start tray just says scanning.  I've restarted and rebooted without change.  I've tried to run a scan, quick and full, and it just sits there.  I can't find where it shows a % complete.

There are a few reasons that make the scan hang, other real-time protection programs, permissions and to big file, and a bug fix is here.
Scan hangs at 70% to 80%

Thanks Tom.  Big day at church yesterday so I didn't have time to do anything with it.  I decided to run a quick scan this morning so I could note where it seems to hang.  The icon in the start tray was still showing "scanning", but it let me start a quick scan.  When I got home from voting, my machine was hung so I did a hard start. Once it finished rebooting, there was a TM update so I ran it.  And now, the icon in the start tray shows "protected", and not "scanning".  Weird, before posting my first message, I had restarted and checked/ran updates multiple times, with no change in status. After the update this morning, it appears to be working correctly.  I'll hang on to you notes, but for now it looks like it fixed itself.  Regards!
