Installer won't download as instructed

I have downloaded the Installer for my renewal and when opened it starts to download and then just pops up with a small dialogue box, completly blank with a red dot left side middle with white cross in it, ie a cancel sign. I also find I am using version 10 even though I renewed last year. Any ideas??

Installing Maximum Security

A stable internet connection is required when downloading the program to ensure that there will be no corrupted components. Also, upgrading the program to the latest version is done manually.

Went well till untill Part 2 b but  User Account Window did not appear, no further action from installation but obviously still running in the background as mouse is flickering on screen. Am going to switch off Lap top in order to close it down. Any ideas?

Is there a other AV/Malware scanner on your PC?

If so put them off or uninstall then first.
