Trend Micro stops me from looking at records in Ancestry.com. I understand why it might want to block me from downloading the record, but nothing should stop me from looking at it OR downloading it if that is what I want to do! Is there a way to permanently allow me to do what I want in Ancestry?

Thank you for contacting us in our support community! Regarding your question, have you tried to add the URL as a trusted website to the exception list? If not, please add the following two URLs  to the exception list, we've seen this worked for some of our customers.
:
http://*.ancestry.com/*
https://*.ancestry.com/*

Here's a reference doc for the steps for your reference:
Configuring the Exception List of Trend Micro Security software - refer to "Add Or Block Websites"

Please try and let us know if this resolves your issue.

Also, thank you for being a subscriber of our premium support service! Please don't forget to utilize the premium service which includes 24x7 phone support. You can find the premium service phone number in the "Call Premium Support" section in this page.

Thanks!

I have added both variations of the website as you suggested, but Trend Micro still blocks it when I attempt to add a record to my tree in Ancestry.  If there isn't a permanent way to stop this from happening, once my subscription is up I will have to go back to Avast which is a lot more user-friendly.

Hi Rita, we are sorry for the inconvenience caused.

Per your description, I understand although you've added the URL as a trusted website to the exception list already, the problem continues. Since we cannot reproduce this situation in our lab, to help you further with this problem, could you provide some screenshots of the blocking and provide the complete blocked URL for us? Once we received the information, we'll pass to our support center for further investigation. Thank you!

Below is the URL and the error messages.  Previously, I sent you a screen shot showing that the web site was in the exception list.
I would appreciate knowing that you got my reply this time.

Hi Rita, thanks for providing the screenshots!

According to the pictures you provided, the website is blocked by Trend Micro Security's Data Theft Prevention feature. We have a support document which explains why the message displays:

“Transfer of Protected Data Blocked” error message when visiting web pages

Also, you can refer to the page below and drag the slider to OFF to disable the feature.
Using the Data Theft Prevention feature of Trend Micro Security

Please try and let us know if this resolves your issue. Thanks!
