Since renewing I received an updated version.

This version will not let me stop the 'Trend Micro Solution Platform' service or flag it for a manual start.

Do I need to remind Trend Micro that this IS MY COMPUTER.  It's my hardware and you're invited into the system.  Do not assume to take control of my environment.

How do I stop this from running.  I do not need it running all the time.  Some of us have knowledge far advanced than others and are more capable of operating in a safe manner than 99.99% of the dumb arses out there.

It slows down operation of my equipment.

Don't make me hack it out.

Hello trendmicro.com.au

Sorry to hear about your experience.

We don't recommend to turn off the Trend Micro Anti-Malware Solution Platform since it is one of the key components in checking and blocking malwares in your computer. Turning it off is like turning the whole program itself. You'll be vulnerable to attacks which defeats the point of having an antivirus software if the first place. .

Can you send us a screenshot of your Task Manager that shows how much disk usage Trend Micro uses? That would help us in isolating the issue.

Problem solved (no thanks to TM).

"It slows down operation of my equipment."  When I say this, I'm talking about the milliseconds it takes to check every executable and library before launching an app.  It's very annoying.

"You'll be vulnerable to attacks which defeats the point of having an antivirus software if the first place."  That's amusing.  Assuming you're male, would you wear a condom 24x7?  Seems crazy, right?  You're basically assuming I need to be protected non stop.  I guess those that work with real world viruses like ebola need to wear biohazard suits 24x7, based on your logic.

Trust me when I say, I know what I'm doing.  I only need TM when I think I'll need added protection, and let's be honest here, there is no way TM can offer 100% protection against things it doesn't know about anyway.

Thanks for attending to my query, though.  I appreciate that.
