I have a laptop and a desktop under 1 subscription. how can I cancel the coverage of just the desktop?

To answer your question, you can remove the protection from your desktop easily via Trend Mico Account. Here's a reference for the detailed steps: Managing your Trend Micro Account (MyAccount)
