Change Quarantine Status if a file is restored

When Trend removes a "malicious" item, you can find it in Quarantine with the status "Removed"

However, if you decide to "Restore" it , the item will be restored but will continue to appear as "Removed"

So, after a while you cannot figure out if an item has been removed or restored.

Hello claudiu_botezatu

Thanks for asking here.

To check if the file that has been Quarantined has been restored successfully is to go to the original location of the file before.

Have you tried doing this already? If not, please do so. We will wait for your response.

Thank you and have a great weekend!

Thank you TM_Jabi,

Certain antiviruses can perform "disinfection" (ESET for example)

So, the initial infected file is placed in Quarantine , while the cleaned one is left in the original location; both of them will have the same name.

Some other antiviruses will automatically scan Quarantine after a signature update and, if an item in Quarantine is a FP , will be restored.

So, checking the original location may work , but is not a 100% sure procedure.

The easiest one would be to have the correct information attached to a file in Quarantine : removed, disinfected, restored.

Hello claudiu_botezatu,

Sorry for the late response.

There are certain actions dedicated for each type of malware that you can encounter.

The program will only Quarantine the file if it is infected with a virus. The reason why, it is not like ESET, that leaves the original file to it's original location, is to make sure that the virus will not spread nor propagate on your computer. \

The Trend Micro program will automatically clean the file from viruses if it is a known variant. But if it is a new one, that's the time it will keep you from Restoring it or Quarantine it.

We would like to thank you for having this idea in mind and letting us know of it. We will be giving this feedback to our developers for product's improvement.

Thank you and have a great day!

Hi claudiu_botezatu,

I moved this to Ideas Section. If we get more users requesting for it, it can help me justify the change request to Product Team :)

Thanks erza,

In fact this is not an "idea" but basic functionality ; an user is supposed to easily find out which items have been detected, allowed or restored.
