Is your computer a P.C. or an Apple? Those are the two basic systems in use.

Google "Chrome" is a browser, which lets you browse the internet.

A P.C. will normally come with Windows of one version or another and with it, Internet Explorer, Window's browser.

So you should have one of those two operating systems ( O.S. or OS). It may help if you told us what brand name of computer you have. From there, someone should be able to assist you and answer your question.

Hi woodartisan55,

"Chrome OS is an operating system designed by Google..."

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chrome_OS

The OP clearly specified "I do not have Windows I have Chrome"

Hi Tim and Claudiu, thank you for answering!

Hi j_flannigan, welcome to Trend Micro Community!

To answer your question, we are sorry to inform you that Trend Micro Security doesn’t support Chromebook currently. Trend Micro Security allows you to install on Windows, Mac, Android, and iOS devices, but Chromebook is not included. (depends on different version.)

For a side-by-side comparison, please refer to the link below:
System Requirements for Trend Micro Security 2017

Please let us know if your question is answered. Thank you!

Thank you Linda: unfortunately I have been trying to download my Trend protection to our Acer Chromebook 11; is it something I may be able to do in the future?

Hi @pap6843 and welcome also to the Trend Micro Community!

How are you today?

Upon checking our resources on our end, your Acer Chromebook 11 runs on Chrome OS.

To provide some information about the new operating system, the Chrome OS was designed by Google and is based on the Linux kernel.

As of the moment, the latest version of our Trend Micro Security software can only provide maximum protection and security to Windows computers, Mac computers, Android mobile devices and iOS mobile devices.

Unfortunately, we have not received news from our developers if they will release a product or a version intended for Chrome OS.

It is very possible that our developers will release a version for this operating system because technology nowadays is progressing quickly over the years.

We will provide an update to all of our customers once they decided to release a version for this operating system.

I hope I have been of help in answering your question.

Please do feel free to post questions or report issues here in this community in the future.

Hi claudiu_botezatu!

Thank you for posting your comment to this post.

We just want pap6843 to be informed that the latest version of the Trend Micro Security programs are still incompatible with the Chromebook devices and that these types of feature requests are being addressed to the developers for evaluation and study.

We hope that you are having a great time today and if you also have inquiries or concerns about your Trend Micro program, please do not hesitate to let us know about it and we'll do our best to help you out.

Have a happy weekend! :)

claudiu_botezatu,

I would guess that the reason  for the "meaningless answer" would be because someone asked the same meaningless question. Enjoy your day.

Well lets give it a try for you. Through every browser you can download the software from Trend Micro to your system. (pre-installer)
Once downloaded click right and install it as administrator.
The installation file will download the program and automatic start to install.
If you have a key you are asked to put the key in and conform yourself to the installation.
Internet security or maximum security will install. After that you are asked for protecting maps that you want secure from phising.
Secure yourself bij giving your system a quick scan.
After this the emoticon shows you how your system is. If it shows not 100% please click the link underneath and update your system.
After this you will see that the system is 100% ready.
I came today online and seen many answers that are still open.
In between I hope you found this answer.
If not please go through all these lines.
And this answer might help others that have the same question.

For sure you can use Trend micro on this system, but be aware of chrome, which is vulnerable. More  dan 500 million PC's are mining secret cryptocoins through Chrome and being aware that Google placing every push on a button to their profit, I sure would uninstall Chrome and use Edge as your browser. You'll be double protected this way. If you need windows Explorer it's possible too. Just push on the triple dot right up in the screen and open your Edge site in Explorer. .
