I changed my password because it wouldnt take it, now that I have changed it, it doesn't accept the new one either.

I wrote my password down, but this morning it wouldn't accept it, don't know why, so I created a new password, went it later today and it didn't recognize it or the old one I had written down, don't know why, is the security different password wise that the password protect, does the same password work for both
