I am constantly getting an error message: Trend Micro Anti Malware Platform has encountered a problem and needs to close.

Thanks for letting us know this issue. This error is best resolved by installing the latest version of Trend Micro Maximum Security. Follow the instructions below:
Reinstalling the latest version of Trend Micro Security program

If the problem still persists after reinstalling your Maximum Security, please provide a screenshot of the message and describe the problem in detail (e.g. where are you seeing this message, the actions you take before the message displays, your basic OS etc.), so we can understand more background before recommending a solution.

I can't take a screen shot of my pc. Why am I am getting this error message?

I assume you're still getting the same error message "Trend Micro Anti Malware Platform has encountered a problem and needs to close" even after installing the latest version of the Trend Micro program?

There are many reasons why this error message is encountered, this might be due to a component of the Trend Micro program on depends on the environment of your computer (installed programs, Windows folders, etc.). To help us know more and understand, kindly provide us the information:
  • When and how are you seeing this message? Is it after running a certain program, once your computer starts,before your shut down the computer, etc.?
  • What is the Operating System of your computer? Is it Windows 7, 8, 8.1, or 10?
  • Why are you unable to take a screenshot of your PC? You may try using a camera to upload the picture/snip here.
For initial troubleshooting, let's try reinstalling the Trend Micro Program with the Remnant File Remover Tool.
