How to remove threats after a scan is completed

I have completed a scan and am on the 'logs' screen of the Trend Micro Antivirus app on my Mac. On this page files have been found: either quarantined or ignored. Please explain why some of these detected Trojans are ignored. Secondly, if i click the delete button on the 'logs' page, will it delete the Trojan from my Mac or will it only be removed from the list of threats?

Welcome to the Community, gitam!

Thank you for posting your concern here.

Some detection are quarantined because some files may contain malicious intent but once they are quarantined, they can no longer bring harm to your Mac computer. If you choose to delete the file detected under quarantined, the Trend Micro program will delete the file that exists on your Mac and will be deleted from the quarantined list.

If the detection is ignored, it means the file that was detected won't be able to harm your Mac computer in any way (may only run in Windows Operating Systems, and the likes). If you would like to delete these files detected as 'ignored', you may just go to its exact location indicated in the scan results and delete it manually. Some ignored files may be an attachment from an email.

Let us know your thoughts about this, have a peaceful weekend! :)

As gitam said, it is difficult to understand for us except maybe computer geeks. I think you had better add some explanation and make user-friendly window. When I see my Antivirus window, it is so frustrating. Simple may be the best but not always.
