Thank you for asking in our new support community! Data Theft Prevention feature prevents sensitive personal information which you saved (such as credit card numbers, email address, phone number) from being sent to a website or via email by accident. If you attempt to input any of the protected info into blocked mediums (for instance, in a website) from your computer, two kinds of notification will be received – a pop-up window and a message on the browser. That's how Internet Security Data Theft Prevention feature works.

For your “How to protect credit card number from being stolen online" question, while Data Theft Prevention provides visibility when sending sensitive personal information out from your PC, it still does not prevent credit card info theft completely. You'll still have to follow common personal and credit card info security practices -- e.g. change passwords often, do not store credit card # on less known websites, etc.

Please let us know if your question is answered. Thank you!
