how do I disable the blocking of phone number transfer for certain web sites like AT&T (Trend Micro Maximum Security)

Every time I log into the AT&T site and attempt to pay my bill Trend Micro blocks my attempt to get to the bill pay section with some message about the web site trying to capture sensitive info. I can temporarily override the block by providing my data protection password, but it gets tedious having to do this every month. This happens with a few other sites I interact with, as well.

Isn't there some way to add the AT&T site to some kind of "allow" list?

You want to sign in to AT&T and then copy the website URL. Then, go into your Trend Micro settings and paste/add that to your "Exceptions List". That should deal with it and you should no longer have a problem with your payments. I've had to do the same myself.

The exact message is: "Transfer of Protected Data Blocked"
Additional info: "Data Theft Prevention has stopped protected data from leaving this computer. If you need to send out this information, you can disable this protection temporarily."
Additional info: "Program chrome.exe(5)" "Category Phone number(5)"
I am trying woodartisan55's suggestion and have added the URL(after logging in) to the Trend Micro settings exception list. I'll confirm on the next reboot.

Hi samfeinsilver

Thank you for posting a screenshot of the error message here. You received this message because the phone number that is on the AT&T website matches the phone number that you have entered on Trend Micro's Data Theft Prevention feature. The said feature prevents the transferring of personal information that you have set such as phone number and credit card details.

The link below shows more details about the feature and ways on how to disable it:

“Transfer of Protected Data Blocked” error message appears when visiting web pages

Hope this helps. :)

Woodartisan55's solution is more what I had in mind than the solution offered in the help article. The help article and the configuration page seem to offer only a binary choice as to either protect the data or not. By putting the authenticated URL on the exception list, my data is protected at all other web sites, while my bill paying experience remains streamlined. Having said that, accessing the exception list should be enabled at the Data Protection Configuration page.

Also, I forgot to thank you for pointing me to the help article as it did shed more light on why the program behaves as it does and that understanding allowed me to be comfortable with my configuration choice.
