My Carbonite backup system is having a problem with Trend Micro. How do I make an exception so it works?

This is more of a question for one of the Trend Micro Tech representatives who drop in regularly. Personally, I'd have to say that I think the two protection systems clash and it may come down to choosing one or the other.
