I have a Dell Inspiron, Windows 10 OS, Trend Micro Internet Security Version 15.  The subject Malware is constantly running even when I am not on the internet and using quite a bit a of memory.  The program will not allow me to end the task.  I am considering deleting Trend and procuring a different Internet Security Program.  Can you help me figure how to use less resources and still accomplish the same goals.  Please respond to madisonjon@aol.com.  I would appreciate a response to my issue.  Please copy geek squad with your response.  Thank you.

Sorry to hear about this, madisonjon

Were you able to take note of the computer's activities when the CPU usage became high? It's possible that the Trend Micro is performing a scan or doing an update on the background that's why it is using some of your computer's resources.

To solve this, please do the following:

1. Run this hotfix: High CPU Usage Hotfix
2. Double-click the Ti_150_win_en_LCE_hfb7.1.1021.exe file once the download is complete.
3. Accept the License Agreement, then click Next.
4. Click Install.
5. When a warning window appears, click Yes.
6. Restart your computer.

Hope this helps. Let me know how it goes.

No, it doesn't help.  This is slowing my HP Spectre 360 Convertible 13-ac0XX to an almost unusable crawl.

This has been an issue for so long! I tried the hotfix, can't uninstall and reinstall as I don't have my receipt with a product code.
I have seen SO MANY threads all over the internet with the same problem, and for a very long period of time, years in fact. I'd almost rather have an annoying virus than a program using up to 4000mb of memory at times (not a typo) four thousand. I don't have much more than that to give. I can barely use my pc :-( HELP
