Hi why is the new trend micro freezing .

 new trend micro freezing  when it is scanning and then stops and wont obey any commands it is useless, it has done this for days

Thank you for reporting this issue. For your situation, we suggest you disable the Antivirus + Security and reboot the computer, then try the full back up again to see if it can be completed.

Hi Terry,

Welcome to TM Home users Community, a public site where volunteers try to help each-other , also there are TM Employees that can give answers.
I think it has to do with permissions, follow the things on this support:

However, for us to fully determine the issue, we would like to know if there is any specific file location did the scan freezes? Or is there any certain percentage? If there is, can you please indicate it on the thread below so that we can check further?

Hi thanks for getting back, it freezing when put into shut computer down, it said scan is finished at 80% but on the icon taskbar it is still scanning and you cant do any thing other than close it down with windows.

I find that when my scan gets to that point and "hangs", it's checking for duplicate files and unnecessary files. It finishes in a few minutes or so.
