Unless I am mistaken, the green ticks and green fill means that Trend Micro has checked and found these sites to be safe from malware, virus, and other unwanted programs. I don't believe that you can remove them. It is a security feature.

Disable Trend Micro Toolbar in your browser.

But then disabling the toolbar will no longer inform me if the site is safe or would be so much easier to read if the words weren't covered in green and there was only the green tick (resulting in sending me the same information but without covering the words) this possible?

I don't think so. I don't use it.

Hi @dancingbrolga, sorry for the inconvenience caused.

To help you on your concern, I would like to ask further information. Please provide us the following information:
  • The version of your Trend Micro Security.
  • On what device and its Operating System Version.
  • On which browser and it's version.

I'm another customer that hates the green highlighting. The check mark alone is fine, but please give us an option to turn off the highlighting.

Welcome to the community @beckerfpq!

Here is a fix for removing the green highlighting that you can try.

1) Open your browser
2) Left click on the Trend Micro Toolbar Icon
3) Make sure that "Rate links on web pages" is unchecked while "Rate links on mouseover" is checked
4) Close the browser and open it again

What this does is that it removes the icon and highlighting altogether and it only appears when you point your mouse at the link that you want to view. Aside from this, there is no method to just remove the highlighted link and leave behind the check mark.
