TrendMicro highlights links green on Google Chrome. I appreciate the green checkmark but how do I prevent green highlighting around links? Very annoying. Thank you.

Thanks Jhja. Your reply generated a list of historical blogs on this issue. I found one there that I believe solved my issue:  Left-click on the browser TrendMicro icon, deselect 'rate links on web pages' and select 'rate links on mouseover'.  That gives me exactly what I want; I am secure and I see the green check mark if I hold my mouse over a link. But the green highlighting is gone!   HooHah!

Hi Kathleen Smith,

Thank you for posting here and welcome to Trend Micro Community!

The steps you found is correct. For you to disable the green highlight on your browser, you will have to click the Trend Micro Toolbar and uncheck the "rate links on web pages" and check "rate link on mouseover" if you want to rate a specific link or website.

Thank you and enjoy the rest of your day!

Hi Kathleen,

But i like the green bar, because the purple cums better up in the green bar if you have visit that site.
Also al the bars are already checked so you can go direct to the right site!
If you hover it takes some time to see the mark!
So i think the bar is more practical!

Kind regards,
Tom

Hi Kathleen

I'm sure I have seen another similar topic where the Employee recommend to disable the toolbar, things might have change since then. Glad you got it resolved.

Hi Jhja,
The information that I found might be new, who knows?
Yes, thanks, I am really glad to get this resolved. When I first searched, I did not know the issue was related to Trend Micro so I was following advice about it being some kind of non-harmful malware, and did all kinds of steps!!  I spent hours on it. So I hope my experience will be helpful to someone out there.
Best wishes, Jhja.
