Someone claiming to be Microsoft said our computer was infected with the Zeus Virus. They said they were contracted by Microsoft:

Sam Technologies 247 | About Us

Yesterday, I allowed access to my computer for a few minutes, then stopped them as I was suspicious.

Today, my quicken account was open (I did not open it).

What should I do to protect my computer?

@chrlshlmn Thanks for answering!

@bobridgway2000 Thank you for informing us this situation. We're not sure whether Sam Technologies 247 has contractual relationship with Microsoft or not, but as @chrlshlmn mentioned, we don't think Microsoft would proactively contact customers to perform remote services.

We have many reasons to suspect this was a scam, as @chrishlmn described, and that your personal info and PC is at high risk now of personal information leak and other security attacks. Your Quicken account opening is likely related to whatever was performed during the remote session.

Since you're our Premium Support subscriber, and that you're eligible (e.g. no additional fee) for a "Security Health Check Service" on your PC, please contact our Premium Support center at your earliest convenience and our engineer will perform the checkup service remotely (but safely!) to make sure your PC is safe.
