Full Scan not Scanning full

For at least a week the programs has only run a shorter scan than the full scan I set it to run every night at 8:pm. I know it runs a shorter scan if files were scan within a certain time frame but. I have noticed it continues to only scan about 5,000 to 6,000 files instead of the higher amount my files are with a normal full scan. So is there a issue are something I can fix or do I have to reinstall the program. I have a Windows 10 on a ASUS system, so if you can provide so input on this issue I would be grateful.

Hi spjrathome and welcome to the community!

There is a feature implemented in the Trend Micro program where it will no longer scan a file unless it was modified within 24 hours. Which can explain why the scan feels shorter because it actually is due to the way the scan works.

I ask for a full scan and it stops at 44% and locks up.

Apologies for the late reply. I would also like to thank Tom Emmelot for the assist on this matter.

When you say that the scan is stuck at 44% did you check if the files are changing or is it stuck on 1 file only? Also doing a full scan will take time since it will scan every inch of your computer. If you have a 1 terabyte hard drive the scan will really take time. You can also check if you are using the latest Trend Micro program version 12.0.1191. You can do this by clicking the "Latest protection" in blue. If the version of the Trend Micro program on your computer is not 12.0.1191 it is still an old version, you can click on this link for you to upgrade your Trend Micro program on the computer and check if the issue still persist.
