coreServiceShell.exe is eating my resources.  I tried fixing with the available patch on two terminals (Windows 10 and Windows 7), but the patch does nothing.  It there a proper fix upcoming or am I to uninstall and use something else?

Hi oriondesign

Welcome to TM Home users Community, a public site where volunteers try to help each-other , also there are TM Employees that can give answers, that is only at working hours. I am just a volunteer!

I advice to reinstall, follow this.

Uninstalling Trend Micro Security 2017 using the Uninstall Tool

Using the Trend Micro Permission Tool

Reinstalling the latest version of Trend Micro Security program
https://esupport.trendmicro.com/en-us/home/pages/technical-support/1058995.aspx?_ga=1.147757687.1592...

This must solve the problem.

Kind regards,
Tom

Followed the above instructions.  When re-installing, I got through the first 3 steps, then an error and the software would not install.  I am currently trying to remove what is now a corrupt install...  I have four terminals with this memory leak.  I do not look forward to having to do this four times.  How about not releasing crap software?  My renewal is in March....

Hi oriondesign

If i understand you correct, the " Trend Micro Permission Tool" will not run ???
The "Remnant File Remover Tool"
https://esupport.trendmicro.com/en-us/home/pages/technical-support/maximum-security-2017/1104912.asp...
Should eliminate the corrupt install.
The Permission tool will set  rights correct.
So the install with the latest version must work correct than.
If you have problems with 4 computers the same way,  think there is software on those 4 that should not be there.

Thanks for trying Tom, but no that was not it.

I went through all the steps successfully until it was time to do the clean install.  All other utilities were fine, and I audited the software list as well.  When I tried re-installing the clean downloaded Maximum Security 2019, it failed.  I removed everything again, and re-installed.

I do not run any of the software on the exclusion list on any of the terminals.
Windows 10 and Windows 7 operating systems.  I find it very unlikely that a memory leak is not the issue....

I left two terminals running overnight, coreServiceShell.exe increased RAM usage from 297MB to 446MB on the Windows 10 box, and the Windows 7 terminal currently sits at 784MB.

I was hoping the clean install would resolve the issue, but it is not the case.  I hesitate to try on the other units as I had such trouble on the first one.  I need these for business and cannot afford to tinker.  They are running CAD and simulation software that is CPU intensive.

Hi oriondesign

Ok try it Tom's way,
Uninstall TM
Look for "trend micro" and "trendmicro"on the system drive.
Delete all items.
Then download "Registrar Registry Manager Free" here:
http://www.resplendence.com/registrar
Run the program with admin rights and choose Home version.
Look for "trend micro"

Select all items and delete them!
Then a second time "trendmicro"
Select all items and delete them!
Reboot
Install TM again.

This i use if program's will not install.

Kind regards,
Tom
