I have the same issue. Slow Firefox start and for new tabs also.
I see high cpu usage of coreServiceShell.exe during this time.

It occurs every time I receive an update from firefox. It goes back to normal after 2-3 days without change from my side.

Hi Stephan,

We apologize for the inconvenience this has brought to you.

We need to determine if the Trend Micro program is the cause of this issue. You can try to disable the Trend Micro toolbar. You can refer to the page below for a detailed step in disabling the toolbar.

Disabling the Trend Micro Toolbar of Trend Micro Security software

The last Firefox update (58.0.2) was three days ago. As expected Firefox is no longer slow.

I don't use the Trend Micro toolbar. This extension is already disabled.
I have also disabled all other extensions and plug-ins but that does not help.
The only thing that helped was waiting 3 days or disabling Trend Micro completely (with Diag Toolkit).

Hi team,

there we go again, Firefox Version 59.0.2
Did a install  and a reinstall and Firefox takes 13 seconds to start!
So any advice?
Or must i do my own suggestion, reinstall TM?
Here from you.

Kind regards,
Tom

Hi Team,

is this correct to start with Firefox?

Kind regards,

Yes, it is a service due to API extesnions for interoperability operations. Probably you have some extensions that requires it to start.

Anyway, it is not a bad idea to check that it is running good: chewck at the event log application if Chrome Native Message Host is 'failed' to start or something like this. This may explain the delay.

Close all the applications, check at the correct time, start Fifefox anche check in Application Log under Event Viewer if something suspect is registered.

EDIT: your firefox start with Facebook as first page? If yes, try to start it pointing google, for example.

I used all the way put of this, put on that, to no avail, just reinstall TM and the trouble is over ;)
So my question to TM tech's is why ????

Kind regards,

Using Antivirus only I never had problems.
So may be related to 'social' and 'data' protection systems?
Just to know, did you try to disable them? Just to be sure what is the function that  is causing delay.

I hope next release will fix performance issue and Browser issue.

Tom, that is a hotfix for a toolbar problem... why should this be related to the slowdown problem? I do not use this toolbar.

Tom, the hotfix is not fixing the issue. The problem is affecting also Chrome and the chromium based browsers like Vivaldi. Firefox takes several seconds to start, vs instant start when Tm is completely off. Note that turning off network features, does not solve the issue. The only thing that solves the issue is to completely disable TM. I believe this could be related to the main service of the product.

Hi marco-p

and

Stephan

My problem above is about Firefox 62/63 No toolbar and extreme slowdown, where both fixed after i installed the "Hot-fix"
I don't have a issue whit Chrome, is fast and working toolbar.
I dont have other slowdown or memory or CPU use problems.
If you still have slowdown problems or CPU use problems, start a new tread with enough info (screenshots) of the task-manager.
Hope that the problems you have, they can solve.

Kind regards,
Tom

Hello,
I had the same problem its curios that it runs for weeks without any problems and since today Firefox is slow as hell.
I have Windows 10 running on my Notebook, i found out that the process is in a "inactive" state for the time Firefox is freezeing. This can be seen in the Taskmanager on newer Win 10 devices.

My Solution:
So at least i added a exception for the firefox.exe in the settings from the TrendMicro Console, so far this will speed up firefox and the process keeps "active".

Regards
Rap

Hi r.groemmer

Thank you for sharing the solution that worked on your end. Upgrading Firefox and Trend Micro to their latest version can also solve the issue, so please take time to do so. Here's how to upgrade Trend Micro to its latest version:
