egift card for starbucks from trend micro

Yesterday I received an email stating that trend micro was giving me a egift card for $5 to use at starbucks. Of course I did not click the link. but ever since I read the email, my laptop has slowed to where it took 31 minutes to reboot it today. My desktop takes forever to completely load, apps launch very slow or not at all, AND my trend micro protection sits on either 'scanning' or 'starting protection' mode for hours. Now I also want to mention that windows 10 is doing another update also and that may be part of the problem. I guess mainly my question is : did you really send me a egift card or not? :(

Hi rdblackford,

Can you please check who the sender of that email was? I don't think it's from us but I will verify this with our team. Meanwhile, please check the solutions provided here with regards to the start-up issue:

This Trend forum, which I get in my email, is interesting & a great idea.  HOWEVER IT WOULD BE MUCH MORE MEANINGFUL IF TREND'S ANSWERS WERE POSTED ALONG WITH THE QUESTIONS.

Hi SEAMANALAN

Sorry, but I didn't quite get what you mean. Can you please elaborate that? Thanks.

Thank you. Following the link you included solved my problem. I was worried I was looking at a complete backup, clean install of operating system and several days of reset. All is working perfectly, (well, as good as can be expected nowadays). Thanks again!

Oh and the email came from starbucks.com or at least that is what the return address was. I will be more vigilant. Normally google is very good at stopping these type of emails.

No worries! It's nice to know that everything is sorted out. By the way, the email that you have received is not legit and you did a good job of not clicking the link.

If you need further help, you know where to find us.
