I have just installed the extension for Microsoft Edge but it's asking to transfer a license. I have Trend Maximum Security that protect three devices. Why can't I install the Edge Extension on the same three devices? Your support tried selling me another Trend Maximum Security license to do so. Your advertising states that the Edge extension is included in Maximum Security but every installation is counted as a new device.

I am using Windows 10 Pro so what are you saying is that as I have Maximum Security Installed I can use Microsoft Edge safely without the Edge Extension. This is quite confusing as the functionality of the Edge Extension is similar to what I have via the Trend Toolbar in Internet Explorer.

Hi shbotts62

Trend Micro Security for Edge adds an additional layer of protection on top of the protection offered by Maximum Security. This extension will occupy one seat of your subscription, so now that you've used all 3 seats of your subscription, there's no remaining seat for Trend Micro Security for Edge. To manage your subscription, you may visit this link:

Does one extra seat allow for the installations the Edge Extension on the already licensed three devices or do I require a seat for each installation of the Edge Extension.

Hi shbotts62,

That's one seat per installation of the Trend Micro Security for Edge on each of your devices.

So I have to purchase another three licenses for functionality that is advertised as included in my Trend Maximum Security. Not sure if this complies with Australian consumer law. You may have to alter your false and misleading advertising.

You can use the Trend Micro Toolbar on your Google Chrome, Internet Explorer and Mozilla Firefox, shbotts62. This doesn't require you a seat for it to be installed on the said browsers.

Trend Micro Toolbar provides safety ratings to websites when you do searches online. This allows you to check whether a link or website is either Safe, Suspicious or Dangerous before you access it. You can click the link below to give you a guide on how to enable this:

Enabling the Trend Micro Toolbar on supported browsers

But if you really want to add the Trend Micro Security on Edge, you would have to purchase another subscription since Microsoft has restrictions when it comes to adding toolbars on its browser and Microsoft requires our product to be downloaded directly from their store.
