Hi @service.operations and welcome to TrendMicro Community!

I have reviewed your concern and I understand that you want to know how you can configure your Trend Micro Antivirus for Mac to not always offer scan for the just connected drive you use for Time Machine. Let me help you with this.

You may add the exact path of your Time Machine through the Exception List of your Trend Micro program so that it will not offer a scan on that specific drive.

Please refer to the link below under "How do I add items to the Scan Exception List?"

Configuring the Scan Settings of your Antivirus for Mac 2017

Hope this helps you with your concern.

Thank you and have a great day.

Hi, I have added the folder "/Volumes/Mobil2"(the harddisc) to the exeption list, nevertheless the scan still appears after reconnecting it to the MacBook. Is there still another possibility?

Hi again @service.operations and thank you for your response.

Please allow me to continue helping you in this matter.

I have tried to replicate the issue on our end and the notification for the new drive appeared on the screen.

Please be informed that the notification will only appear in a very short period of time and eventually, it will disappear on your screen.

Please also be informed that this notification is a feature of your Trend Micro Antivirus for Mac and cannot be configured off. This notification acts a security feature of the software to inform the user that a portable drive connected to his/her Mac computer.

The feature will serve as a first line of security to your Mac computer since the feature will be notifying the user to initially scan the device before viewing and using the files stored in it.

I hope you will understand how the product works and helps you protect your Mac computer.

Thank you and have a great day!
