Did I get scammed? My computer locked up with a message to call Microsoft Support according to my wife which she did. The person tired to help her and then I got involved. He said we had a foreign I.P. Address hacker with a TORJAN CSRSE.EXE. Transferred us to another company to solve the problem for money. I let them do it and sent a check. Is this a scam?

You DEFINITELY got scammed, sorry to say that. This is happening much more frequently lately as more "hackers" figure out ways to sit on their duffs and make a living by doing things like this.

That phone call probably cost more than a dime also. I'm going to take a guess here and say that your best bet would be to contact Trend Micro support and let them know exactly what happened and I'd they can help resolve the issue for you.

I would also go into you Trend Micro setting (the little "cog" where you start your scans manually) and up your setting(s) to "hypersensitive", do a full scan, and see if that might help also.

Pass the word around to friends about that scam. The more people are aware, the better. They will probably do this to all of your email contacts as they, more than likely, have access to them.
