credit card blocking

It would be nice to have a button that would allow me to temporarily disable the credit card protection function before I need to use it.  As it is now, I have to enter the credit card information, wait for it to be rejected in order to temporarily disable the protection, and then re-enter all the credit card information.  Because it is such a pain, I usually disable Trend Micro before entering in credit card numbers and then I have to remember to re-enable Trend Micro which I don't always remember to do.

Since part of my job function is to process non-present credit cards for my company, this can be a daily occurance.

Hi pearison,

Did you receive the error message that says “Transfer of Protected Data Blocked"?

If you have, you can avoid frequent notifications from this feature, just type the last 8 digits of your credit card number on the Data Theft Prevention feature. This is the best practice for greater filtering.

To configure the Data Theft Prevention feature of your Trend Micro Security software, follow the steps on this Knowledge Base article: Using the Data Theft Prevention feature of Trend Micro Security.

Please let us know how it goes. If the problem still occurs, please send us a screenshot or a description of the error message that it gives you.

Hi Pia. Thank you. Unfortunately, since part of my job function is to process non-present credit cards for my company, this doesn't solve my issue.  Is there a way to create an exception for a certain website?  Every day I go online to our web-based credit card virtual terminal to accept our customer's credit cards.  Due to the Consumer Credit Protection Act, I can't save my customer's credit card numbers and have to enter them each time they give me their number.

Hi there, pearison,
You may do the following to temporarily disable the Data Theft Protection feature:

  1. On the pop-up message, click Temporarily disable this protection.
  2. On your keyboard, press the F5 key. This will refresh the website and disable the Data Theft Protection feature for 30 minutes.
Hope this helps.
