Continuous Protection Plan

I keep getting the pop-up for Continuous Protection Plan after I just installed TM.  TM through Digital River is trying to sell me another year of subscription and trying to put me on the continuous protection plan.  Problem is this won't go away, and it keeps popping up every day.  Very annoying.  How can I stop it and get rid of it?
I am running Windows 7 Pro, have TM Premium/Max Security.
Talking to tech support, he says to turn on Mute Mode and select 24 hours.  But it seems threat detection pop-ups and scheduled scans are delayed during the mute mode. So that cannot be a good thing!

Hi Ronald,

Thanks for posting your concern here and welcome to the community!

Would it be alright if I ask you to post screenshots of your main console and the pop-ups? Also, please take note of the last thing you've clicked on whenever the pop-up appears, so that we can identify what triggers it.

Thank you and have a great day!

I have this same issue and it's been showing up everyday.  The pop up from Trend Micro.  Trying to get me to LEARN MORE about Continuous Protection Plan.  I did try clicking LEARN MORE hoping this would satisfy the pop up but it appears the next day.  This subscription I have is brand new so why the SPAM.  Very frustrating and this would make me switch to another anti-virus software if it keeps continuing.

The MUTE MODE suggestion is not acceptable.  This MESSAGE should only show once and needs to be fixed in the next update.

Hi  ilovetoypoodles

My experience  is that a lot of the problems come with the install.
Uninstalling Trend Micro Security  using the Uninstall Tool

Using the Trend Micro Remnant File Remover Tool

Programs to remove before installing Trend Micro Security

Installing Internet Security 2018

After You configure TM again,

Kind regards,

Hello Ronald and ilovetoypoodles,

Apologies for the inconvenience.

Can you help us gather some information and take screen shots of the said popup for us so we can check it here on our end?

After two days, got the pop up again.  Not sure why you insist on a screen shot because you should know what's inside your software.

This is spam.  It's not free.  If it's free, then it should not require credit card information.  Why am I pestered with this message time and time again?  I read the fine print and you are not fooling anyone...

"You also agree that any discount on your initial purchase is an incentive that is not applicable to auto-renewals under this plan, and that Digital River may transfer responsibility for the processing of subsequent renewals and a copy of your payment information to Trend Micro or its payment processor upon email notice to you. You may cancel your auto-renewal plan at any time by logging into the My Subscriptions portal (access information will be included in your order confirmation email or on the Customer Service Help Page), selecting your product, and selecting the option to disable automatic renewal."

Hello ilovetoypoodles,

Thank you so much for your response and for posting the screen shot of the pop up.

This is the reminded pop up for our Auto Renewal plans. You may check the details of the Auto Renewal on this link:

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs) about Auto-Renew

As of the moment, I would like to apologize about this but the program still does not have the option for the users to permanently disable these types of pop ups. I know that it can be a pain if you really do not wish to have the Auto Renew enabled but it is our way of keeping your computer safe seamlessly. Also, just to let you know, we also have a lot cases requesting for this pop ups to be disabled so rest assured that this is already considered by our developers but, we still cannot assure that it will be removed.

Once again, I do apologize if this has caused inconvenience on your end.

I have not seen this message pop-up lately.  I clicked on it more than once to go through the steps (but did not purchase). Not sure if that had anything to do with it being quiet.  Perhaps it is just sitting and waiting to pop up again.  For tech support: I suggest you ask the programmers what they concocted here.  They may have designed it to pop up multiple times in the beginning and then once a month, or something like that.  Either way, it is a terrible idea; it makes TM look terrible.

I have been having this problem for awhile now and I would like the developers to know the pop-ups are the sole reason I am un-installing the program, canceling the subscription and choosing other security softwares. I will not pay for software to have pop-ups on my property.

For others who have this problem, just know there are other great antivirus and security software.

Let me also comment that when time comes to renew if I have been harassed for an entire year with this popup about Continuous Protection I will uninstall your product. Harassment/bullying into ensuring your profit stream is not why I -- or anyone else -- installed your product. You want to inform people of this opportunity? Fine. You do that once, twice, maybe even three times. If someone keeps dismissing it, however, you should be respectful enough to understand that consumer is not interest and your badgering will only make them angrier.

I recently installed Trend Micro Maximum and started receiving these. OK, so there are some benefits which are not explained, but I can submit my credit card for a $0 purchase!  Now I know it's only a lame effort to get me to activate automatic renewal. Ha! I've been around too long and have too many software purchase to fall for that one. It's why I left AVG.  Hey marketing department get a clue--this is like a robocall to my desktop and finding out all you want is to make me so lazy in a year that I don't pay attention to the fact that your current customers will be be paying to balance the cost of your new customer acquisition. You need to turn this over to customer retention for those of us who are just happy with the product. You might try a discount to loyal customers--it's called an incentive.

If this annoying pop up doesn't stop immediately, I will stop it when I need to renew a security program.
