Continuosly "installing an update"

I installed the software last night on my desktop computer and it is still "installing an update". The installation of my laptop computer has completed; so, I'm curious if there's a problem with the desktop computer installation?

Can you tell me why you react with a question (which is already a year old) and the question has nothing to do with the subject. For your question, tell us OS, TM version and i think a reboot give also a answer, after reboot TM can go on with the install.

All of your suggestions were absolutely useless in every possible way.  I spoke with a Geeksquad associate who advised that the most likely culprit was a simultaneous Microsoft update occurring while the TM software was being installed.  So, I simply uninstalled and reinstalled the TM software which works perfectly now on my desktop computer.

To my knowledge everything is working as designed on both my desktop and laptop.  None of the software defaults have been changed; so, I will let the processes complete as designed until I see where/when an adjustment might be necessary.
