If every thing checks out on my computer, what makes it run so slow?
it seems to take a very long time do any thing. I can most of the time type faster then it will appear on the screen. To open another window some times seems like it takes a minute or two.

Hi mikemm1 and welcome to the Community!

Just like Tom said, it would be helpful if you can provide us some details regarding your computer like when does it becomes slow? Or what is the disk usage that you can observe when you are running the computer? Also, do you have a back-up system on your computer?

There can be a lot of reasons why your computer is running slow. It could be that the memory of your computer is running low. The age of the computer can also affect its speed. Also, if there are too many programs and applications running at the same time, that could also slow down your computer. Conflicting softwares can also add to the problem.

One way to check on what's really causing your computer to slow down is by going to the Task Manager, then checking the background processes. Look if there is any application that you might is taking too much disk usage. Another way is, try to check your RAM or your hard disk memory. You might already need to free up some space already for your computer to run faster.

Now, if you have observed that it is Trend Micro causing the slowness of your computer, you can try the steps on this link:
Slow PC performance due to high CPU or memory usage of CoreServiceShell.exe. It contains a hotfix to help with your issue.

Hope this helps.

Mac
